Londoners Flock to Richmond Park Despite Social Distancing Warnings

Londoners flocked to Richmond Park on March 22 enjoying a sunny day in the open air despite pleas from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for “everyone to stop all non-essential contact with others.”

The Royal Parks, the body that manages Richmond Park and seven other parks across London, closed all cafes and kiosks on March 22, saying the decision was taken because people were “not adhering to social distancing guidelines.”

Park officials added: “If people do not follow social distancing guidelines, we will have no choice but to consider closing the parks.” Credit: Henry Jones via Storyful
