London's Oxford Street Closed as Firefighters Respond to Blaze in Five-Story Building

Firefighters battled a five-story building fire in London’s Mayfair area late on March 6.

“Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are tackling a fire at a shop on Gilbert Street in Mayfair,” the London Fire Brigade said in a tweet. The London Fire Brigade said they took at least 12 calls about the building fire at the corner of Bond and Gilbert Streets.

Local reports said the fire started at a souvenir shop and firefighting efforts closed down Oxford Street in both direction.
