9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star are going to cross over again, and the latter's leading man Rob Lowe has teased that it's going to be something worth waiting for.

The franchise crossed over its shows earlier this year, bringing the Los Angeles team down to Austin, Texas. Following its success, US network Fox has officially ordered another one.

Showrunner Tim Minear hasn't got a definitive idea of what he wants to do for it yet, seeing as he's just wrapped up Lone Star's current run, but Lowe told TheWrap that he thinks having the Austin team visit LA might be the way to go.

Lowe revealed: "My sense is that it would be us coming to LA, because that seems totally, only fair.

"We’ve been cooking up some ideas that I think are super fun. So I’m excited to try to do it."

He continued: "Working on the crossover this year was one of my favourite things, not just because my son wrote it, but it was just great to work with those actors from 9-1-1.

"They’re all so great. It’s a blast kind of putting the teams together."

Of course, following that Lone Star's season finale, the next crossover could be even more different than teased.

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star air on Fox in the US and Sky Witness in the UK, with the former also available on Disney+.
