Long Lines Form at Las Vegas Airport as Southwest Cancels Flights

A passenger at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, reported long lines as Southwest Airlines canceled dozens of flights out of the airport on Sunday, October 10.

According to a report by USA Today, citing a memo to Southwest Airlines employees, the airline apologized for canceling nearly 1,900 flights across the country over the weekend.

This footage, posted on Twitter by Jeremy Clevenger, shows passengers waiting in line in Terminal 1 at McCarran Airport.

“Thank God the line moved decently fast. Made my plane with less than one minute to spare and showed up one and a half hours early,” Clevenger said.

“Air traffic control issues and disruptive weather have resulted in a high volume of cancellations throughout the weekend while we work to recover our operation,” Southwest Airlines said on Saturday. Credit: Jeremy Clevenger via Storyful
