Long Lines Seen at JFK Airport Amid 'Technical Issue' With Check-In System

Passengers reported delays at airports in the US and internationally on May 21 after a check-in system experienced a “technical issue”, impacting airlines including JetBlue and American.

A spokesperson for American Airlines told Storyful: “Earlier today, Sabre had a technical issue that impacted multiple carriers, including American. This issue has been resolved. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”

Sabre’s website states their system: “provides fast, reliable and comprehensive check-in options that expedite and enhance the passenger’s experience while streamlining the operational efficiency of airline airport agents.” Storyful has reached out to the company for comment.

Disruption was reported in New York, Sydney, Los Angeles, Boston, and elsewhere.
