Long Lines of Shoppers as Belgium Takes Measures to Contain Coronavirus

Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes said late on March 12 that the number of coronavirus cases in the country had risen to 369, and that authorities were taking measures to contain the spread of the disease.

Video here shows a long line at a supermarket in the East Flanders city of Ninove.

The source told Storyful that a WhatsApp message had “caused a lot of panic” as it told people the country plans on going into lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, speaking to the press, Wilmes stressed current containment measures did not constitute a lockdown. Credit: @got7_savage7 via Storyful
