Long Lost Family returns and makes everyone emotional

Long Lost Family returned for a new series tonight (July 26) and, as expected, it was an emotional rollercoaster.

If you didn't know the premise of the ITV series already, people who have been trying to find their relatives but struggling are aided by hosts Nicky Campbell and Davina McCall to complete their search.

As you can imagine, families reconnecting, or admitting their guilt, or thinking about all the years lost, really gets the people on TV crying, and then the presenters start crying, which gets us crying and why don't they make bigger boxes of tissues?

Tonight's episode saw a divorced couple reunite after they had to give away their child for adoption because a child born out of wedlock in the old days was something that people weren't 'supposed' to do:

Elsewhere, the team helped a woman find her long-lost sister, but it came with the heartbreaking discovery that her mum had passed away and she would never be able to meet her:
