A former city centre fave is set to be given a new lease of life after signs appeared in its window revealing it has new owners.

The Two Fat Ladies restaurant on Blythswood Street has lain vacant after closing several years ago, but now a sign has revealed that it is set to become a Korean eatery.

Tagged as "the hottest Korean BBQ Restaurant", the new spot is set to be called SSAMM. No date has been revealed for when the restaurant will open as of yet.

The name refers to the traditional Korean style of dish that sees any food wrapped in either edible leaves or seaweed.

Having opened back in 2005, the Two Fat Ladies quickly became an iconic chain of eateries in the city, leading to them taking over the Buttery in 2007.

Since then both their restaurant on Blythswood Street and a sister restaurant in the west end have both closed.

We can't wait to see what SSAMM is like when it opens and as always we'll let you know as soon as we know when it will.
