A business owner has expanded and rebranded his business in Southwell after years in the town. Paul McCarroll took over McCarrolls Barbers years after his father, David McCaroll, first launched the barber shop in 1971.

Known for being a traditional barbers with a modern twist, the business offers a range of services. However, it has recently moved from one side of King Street to the other and is now located in the former launderette with a new name.

Paul's barber shop has been transformed and is now called Street Talk Barbers, but on the opposite side of the unit is his new business venture, Serenity Tanning Studio. His fiance, Sarah Bates, is helping him run the tanning side of things, which has a range of equipment, including an Opal Fitness standing tanning bed.

Paul said: "We have had a lot of enquiries and a few people using it. There's nothing else like it around here, people would have to go to Newark or Mansfield."

The new businesses launched on Tuesday, September 10, and Paul says things have been going great so far. Explaining that his barber clients have followed him to the new location, and there has been lots of interest in the new tanning studio.

He stated: "It's kind of two shops under the one roof, so I have the barber shop which we have had for 50 years and then we have the tanning side as well now."

The rebrand and new premises has given the business a more modern space to grow but it remains in the heart of the town centre. The tanning business also has a number of September opening offers to help encourage people try out the services, such as 30 minutes on any sunbed for £25, rather than the usual £30 price.
