Longview house fire causes $12k in damages

LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – A house fire in Longview did roughly $12,000 worth of damage earlier this month.

Authorities said a passerby called them to 122 Kenwood Lane to report a structure fire. Crews found fire and smoke coming from the roof and fire visible through a piece of plywood that had been used to board up the structure.

Crews were able to make entry and extinguish the fire. The homeowner said the house was vacant but there had been signs of break-ins on prior occasions.

Officials believe the fire started in the living room of the residence. No injuries were reported.
