Bryan Singer has shared another look at Rami Malek in costume as Freddie Mercury – and it's giving us serious chills.

The Mr Robot star has taken on the role of the iconic Queen singer for the forthcoming Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

The movie will chart Mercury's rise to fame and end with Queen's memorable performance at the 1985 Live Aid concert.

In the director's chair for the project is X-Men alumnus Bryan Singer, who 'couldn't resist' sharing a picture of Rami performing as Freddie on Instagram earlier today (October 17).

Couldn't help myself and had to post this iPhone pic

"Couldn't help myself and had to post this iPhone pic," he said, next to a picture of Malek on stage with his shirt off and the microphone to his mouth.

While we're not sure which Queen classic Rami is performing in the shot, we can probably assume from the lack of shirt and funky staging that it's a lively number.

Bohemian Rhapsody has been in development for a while now, with Sacha Baron Cohen originally expected to play Mercury. He left the project citing "artistic differences", while Brian May's version of events was that Cohen was "an arse".

It wasn't until Singer finally got permission from the surviving members of Queen that the biopic could go ahead, and he then ditched plans to take up the 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake to direct the biopic instead.

Ben Hardy (EastEnders, X-Men: Apocalypse), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Gwilym Lee and Joseph Mazzello all star alongside Malek in the film.

Bohemian Rhapsody is in cinemas December 25, 2018.
