Loose Women fans have been left fuming after their favourite show fell victim to ITV’s sporting commitments.

The flagship lunchtime programme is not on today as the channel will be showing the World Cup match between Sweden and South Korea, live from Russia, from 12.30pm.

Some were left gutted by the scheduling change and begged the broadcaster to air Loose Women on alternative channels, with one viewer tweeting: “Why can't they put you on ITV 2,3,4?”

Others questioned why sport can’t be on one of the broadcaster’s sister channels, with one adding: "Hang on... where’s #LooseWomen ?!! Why is there football on instead?! Am not having this mind!!!"

A third posted: "I'm missing not having my afternoon laughs with the ladies today!"

And the bad news keeps on coming as the rest of the week will see the show cut from one hour to just half an hour before the network go live to Royal Ascot.

The rescheduling of Loose Women happened earlier this year for Cheltenham and previously for election coverage.

Loose Women isn’t the only programme on the move for football, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale either changing times or not airing altogether.

Tonight, ITV have pulled both popular soaps in favour of crime drama Vera, while England play their opening game against Tunisia on the BBC.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Emmerdale will be on from 7pm until 8pm, followed by a dose of Weatherfield action.

Loose Women returns Tuesday 19 June at 12.30pm on ITV.
