Loose Women's Kaye Adams has opened up about how "empty nest syndrome" left her in tears, feeling like it's the "end of family life". Kaye, who is mum to Bonnie, 18, and Charley, 22, with her long-term partner tennis coach Ian Campbell, admitted she was reduced to tears when she found her daughter packing for university.

Recalling the emotional moment, she said: "She phoned me - I was coming home from the airport - and she was saying, 'Oh Mum, I can't do my packing'. I was thinking 'for God's sake Bonnie, you've had six weeks to do this, you should be all organised'.

"I walked upstairs and there she was sitting surrounded by these clothes and suitcases. I looked at her she looked at me, and we both burst out crying."

On her How To Be 60 podcast, Kaye confessed: "It's bloody difficult. The worst thing is, she's having a really good time," reports the Express.

"She couldn't speak to me the other day because she'd been doing karaoke." The TV star previously shared that she was "a wreck" when her eldest daughter Charley also left for university.

Having been a presenter on Loose Women since its inception 25 years ago, Kaye expressed that with both daughters having left their Glasgow home, it feels like the end of an era.

"The house is so tidy, I'm actually walking around trying to trash it," she added. "There's nothing for anyone to do, so it's really going to take a bit of getting used to."
