The stars of Loose Women shared a message of support for their colleague Coleen Nolan and her family after her sisters Linda and Anne revealed that they both have cancer.

The sisters, who made up part of the pop group The Nolans, were diagnosed within days of each other.

Linda, 61, has incurable cancer in her liver after previously facing breast cancer in 2006, cellulitis and lymphoedema in her arm in 2007 and secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017. Anne, 69, has stage three breast cancer, having first been diagnosed with the disease in 2000.

The siblings started their chemotherapy last month at Blackpool’s Victoria Hospital.

During Monday’s episode of the ITV panel show, host Andrea McLean paused to send “love and strength” to her co-star Coleen, 55.

“Before we carry on, we want to send a really special message to our Coleen and her family,” she said.

“Col, we know you’re watching from home and we want to say that we are sending you lots of love and strength as your sisters Linda and Anne have announced they are currently undergoing chemotherapy together.

“They gave an interview today with that Nolan trademark humour and we know that you’re all tough cookies but Coleen, we are sending you and your family all the love in the world from your Loose Women family. From us to you, we are thinking of you.”

Fellow presenters Stacey Solomon and Denise Welch also joined in and blew kisses to Coleen.

Sharing the sad news on Twitter on Sunday, Coleen said that her sisters have “beaten it before” and “can beat it again,” imploring fans to “keep them in your thoughts and well wishes.”

Maureen Nolan, 66, has now moved in with her elder sister Anne to look after her following the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, Denise Nolan, 68, is caring for Linda at her home.

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV from 12.30pm
