Loose Women star Linda Robson has addressed her co-star Ruth Langsford's split with Eamonn Holmes.

The TV presenter announced her split from the GB News broadcaster earlier this year in a joint statement after 14 years of marriage.

The couple first met in 1991 before getting together in 1996. They have a son, Jack, together.

Ruth has maintained her silence since announcing the news, but her co-star Linda has spoken about how "sad" the split is "for both of them".

Speaking to OK! magazine at the National Reality TV Awards, she said Ruth is "keeping her spirits high".

She explained: "We’re staying out of it because it’s not our business, but we’re supporting her in any way we can and just keeping her happy. It’s sad for the both of them but just keeping her spirits high."

Ruth and Eamonn are known for their roles as This Morning co-presenters, where they first appeared in 2006 before leaving in 2021.

A statement released on the couple's behalf said: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Eamonn previously addressed the split while presenting on GB News, saying: "I'd just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation.

"Your support for both of us is very appreciated."

He then updated fans on his split with Ruth at the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards, telling The Mirror: "I'm not okay. This is not a good time at all."

When asked about whether the former couple will remain in contact, he added: "It's too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends."
