Today marked TV’s Linda Robson’s 60th birthday and an incredible 50 years in show business.

Upon appearing on the lunchtime show of Loose Women, Linda was taken aback by the surprise celebrations that her co-hosts (and studio audience) had planned.

After making her way onto the LW set blindfolded, she was greeted by friends, family, and some special celeb stars to join in with the festivities during the show.

After taking off said blindfold she was already sobbing with joy: ‘I can’t believe it, I swear to god! I’m crying already, they’ve just spent an hour doing my make-up. What a shock!’

The festivities kicked off with a special video link from Birds of a Feather co-star Pauline Quirke all the way from Lanzarote.

‘I bet you were worried I was going to be in a swimming costume, weren’t you?’ she quipped.

’55 years [we’ve been mates]. Which is amazing because I’m on 38..!’ she then joked.

But it was the world record attempt at removing bras, alongside Stacey Solomon, that got people talking. As the madness ensued, Linda forgot she was on live telly and shouted out ‘s****ing hell’, in a moment of mayhem – much to the shock and amusement of the panelists and audience.

After Andrea McLean apologised to everyone at home, Linda pipped up: ‘I’m sorry. We care about it a lot.’

Later on, Lesley Joseph (the third in the Birds of a Feather trio) popped out of a giant cake, much to the audience’s delight. ‘My first memory of Linda was going to the Ritz to meet Pauline and her,’ she shared. ‘Pauline was wearing trainers and asked for water in her champagne.’

‘I was terrified because you’d known each other all your lives and I was sort of coming in. From that day onwards, we got on like a house on fir I can’t talk without crying… The one thing that keeps this show [Birds of a Feather] going is the chemistry and for some reason it was chemistry made in heaven.’

Suffice to say the party-like atmosphere went off mostly without a hitch, but when live TV’s concerned s**t sometimes happens.

Catch Loose Women weekdays, at 12.30pm, on ITV1.
