Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has landed a new TV role, becoming a team captain on ITV2's CelebAbility.

The show, which is fronted by Love Island's Iain Stirling, is due to return this evening (January 16) with a fresh face replacing former captain Scarlett Moffatt.

Stacey will lead a group of three friends looking to win a series of prizes by defeating four celebrities in a series of games – which this week were Katherine Ryan, Roman Kemp, Judi Love and Ade Adepitan.

"She is just brilliant," Iain said of Stacey to The Version. "She is an absolute professional, an absolute charmer and a joy to work with. It's been a real honour actually. TV royalty!"

Speaking of one particular highlight of the new series, the comedian recalled: "This series we've got Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash who wrap presents competitively against one another.

"It was one of the most enjoyable moments of my life, watching Joe and Stacey scream at each other while wrapping presents!"

Meanwhile, Stacey recently guested on Channel 4's The Big Fat Quiz of the Decade, and hit back afterwards at criticism of her appearance.

"People are always going to have something to say, but as long as you know who you are that is all that matters," she said. "Do what makes you happy… haters gonna hate, hate, hate, no matter what, Just be you. They aren't worth your time or energy."

CelebAbility airs at 10.05pm on ITV2.
