Lorraine Kelly reacts to Boris Johnson snubbing her on 'GMB'

Lorraine Kelly has laughed off her apparent snub by Boris Johnson when he asked who she was live on Good Morning Britain.

The Prime Minister appeared live on the ITV breakfast show for an interview with Susanna Reid ahead of the local elections, and as she was wrapping up the TV presenter told Johnson, "Lorraine is waiting."

The Prime Minister replied: "Who's Lorraine?"

Reid hit back: "Who’s Lorraine? Lorraine is a legend!”

Kelly, 62, chuckled later: "It's so funny. I love how he said, 'Who's Lorraine?' Why should he know who I am?! He's busy in the morning, he wouldn't be watching us. Although he could learn a lot - as you know! That was just so, so funny."

Reading out comments from viewers she said: "Caroline says, 'I bet Lorraine's happy Johnson has made it clear they don't know each other,'" before bursting out laughing and shrugging to camera.

Kelly said Johnson's gaffe had, "Made my morning."

The famously cheery ITV presenter recently called the former Health Secretary Matt Hancock "a pound shop Milk Tray man."

She also made headlines in 2019 when she avoided paying £1.2 million in tax, after a judge ruled she’s performing “the role of a friendly, chatty and fun personality” during her morning appearances on ITV rather than appearing as herself.

Johnson was appearing on Good Morning Britain for the first time in almost five years.

Reid quizzed him on visas for Ukrainian refugees and the effects of the rising cost of living on struggling citizens including pensioners and carers.

She also accused Boris of breaking the law and lying to Parliament in relation to Partygate.

He stated: “You know what I’m going to say on this Susanna and I’ve apologised for the things we got wrong during the pandemic and I repeat those apologies, but with great respect I’m going to have to ask you to wait until the conclusion of the investigation.”
