Lorraine Kelly 'so proud' as daughter Rosie gives birth and shares adorable name

Lorraine Kelly's daughter Rosie has given birth to her first child, as she announced in a heart-warming Instagram post.

The 30-year-old, who got engaged to her partner Steve White in June, revealed that their daughter was born at the end of last month. Rosie shared the happy news on Instagram on Sunday, September 1, and also revealed the baby's name, Billie Kelly Smith-White.

She posted a sweet photo of the baby's hand wrapped around her finger and wrote: "Baby Billie Kelly Smith-White is here - 29-08-2024. It feels like she's been here the whole time and we're not quite sure what the point of anything was before."

She praised the midwives who helped with the birth saying: "I'd heard how amazing midwives are but they are genuinely walking angels - she's been welcomed into the world with so much love already."

Lorraine also shared the same photo and expressed her joy at becoming a grandmother. She wrote: "I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you! Baby Billie is an angel and I'm so proud of @rosiekellysmith and @stevewhite94 who will be the best parents.", reports OK!.

She added that she was looking forward to being a grandmother and going on adventures with Billie.

Rosie's followers responded to the announcement with messages of congratulations. One wrote: "Many congratulations - lil later summer holidays August baby Billie xx how incredibly wonderful,".

"Congratulations well done Rosie, take care xx. Billie, you have fabulous parents and family," commented one well-wisher. Another chimed in with their encouragement: "Congratulations to you both and your family, it's the most amazing feeling when you see your baby. I hope it all went well."

And a third fan expressed their joy: "Congratulations to the 3 of you. Nothing but love now to make many happy memories."

Rosie has been keeping her followers on social media engaged by sharing updates throughout her pregnancy journey and recently spoke about savoring the "last few weeks" before becoming a mother.

On another joyful note, TV star Lorraine has shared her excitement about becoming a grandparent.

Discussing the new chapter in her life, Lorraine previously told Bella Magazine how thrilled she is about the upcoming addition to her family and vowed not to "interfere too much" with her granddaughter once she's born.

"It's the most exciting thing that has happened to our family in a long time. It will be really, really lovely," she enthused, highlighting the supportive relationship with her daughter: "I've just said to Rosie, 'I'm here for you, anything you need.' She's good though, we've got that kind of relationship that if I was annoying her, she would just say 'Enough, go home.'".
