Lorraine Kelly stops show for emotional tribute to terminally ill Glasgow comedian
Glasgow comedian Janey Godley has been met with an outpouring of support since releasing an emotional update to fans confirming she is now receiving "end of life treatment".
The 63-year-old had previously received the all-clear back in 2022, however, she later told how her cancer had returned. Following a scan it was found that the ovarian cancer was incurable.
Fellow Glaswegian and ITV star Lorraine Kelly shared the news after a clip of Janey's heartfelt post played on the programme. Unable to hide her emotions, Lorraine paused the programme to pay her own tribute, reports the Mirror.

Passing on her love for the star, she said: "Well she really is an inspiration, that's comedian Janey Godley of course. She posted that video last night sharing the news that she is receiving end of life care after her cancer spread.
"We are sending her all of our love, she's been absolutely remarkable, she's been so brave all the way through this, still going on tour, still doing all of these amazing things."
Lorraine added: "And we're just sending her all our love and I know she wanted to thank all the people that are looking after her."
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Janey wrote: "I'm now at end of life care – palliative care – and will be going into a hospice for the foreseeable – thanks to everyone who sends me love and support - you've been amazing.
She went on to praise the NHS staff who had been taking good care of her and thanked friends and family for their support.
In the video, the comedian said: "It is devastating news to know that I'm facing the end of life but we all come to an end sometime. "I don't know how long I've got left before anybody asks. I'm not a TikToker so I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you've given me," she added.
Janey signed of saying: "I hope yous all have a lovely Christmas. I might be here, who knows? But I just want you to know I'm sending all my love to people living with a life-limiting disease."
The news followed the cancellation of Janey's autumn tour Why Is She Still Here? after it was explained her cancer had returned.
Sharing a heartbreaking statement, she said: "I have to cancel my upcoming tour, I'm sorry but the cancer has spread and the Beatson cancer team have advised me to stop work.
"I am currently in hospital with sepsis (it's under control) pls contact your theatre for a refund – I'm sorry everyone."
It was met with an official statement form a representative that read: "Janey has been living with stage four ovarian cancer for the past few years and the treatment from the wonderful Scottish NHS has kept the disease at bay, but sadly in the last few weeks the cancer has returned and there have been a few added complications."
