Lorraine Kelly screams in terror as clown gatecrashes her show

Lorraine Kelly screamed in terror as a creepy clown gatecrashed the set of her morning chat show.

The Scottish presenter said she needed a stiff drink to help calm her nerves after getting a fright as she hosted ITV’s Lorraine.

Kelly, 59, was in the middle of a segment on supernatural horror film It: Chapter Two, which features an evil clown known as Pennywise.

While she was talking, someone wearing garish make-up and a bright red wig crept up behind her and shouted “Woo!”

Terrified, Kelly jumped in her seat and let out a series of piercing shrieks as the unexpected guest jumped scampered off behind the scenes.

“That was horrible! That was horrible” Kelly squealed, visibly panicked.

“Oh you swines, you absolute swines!” she said, referring to the show’s producers.

“I hate clowns, I hate them!”

“I need a gin!” gasped the TV star, as she started to calm down.

When she had recovered her composure, Kelly explained that she had felt “genuine fear” when the crazed-looking character popped up.

Producers on the programme later joked on Twitter: “Something tells us @reallorraine is never going to forgive us for this one…”

The prank also scared a few viewers.

One person posted on Twitter: “ABSOLUTELY HATE CLOWNS NOT HAPPY.”

“Oh Lorraine I jumped out my chair and spilled my tea I don’t like clowns either,” said another sympathetic fan.

It: Chapter Two is the sequel to the film It, which was released in 2017.

Both films are based on writer Stephen King’s 1986 book, It.
