A LORRY was stopped by police for being too heavy.
Officers from Thames Valley Police spotted the blue truck on Spring Road in Abingdon yesterday afternoon.
Pictures taken by officers at the scene show the lorry carrying lots of heavy broken bricks, rocks and debris in the back.
Officers weighed it at a nearby weighbridge and discovered it was over 11 tonne in weight, nearly 50 per cent over the legal maximum vehicle weight of 7.5 tonne.
