Lorry Drivers Stranded Near Manston Airport 'Aren’t Very Happy'

Approximately 5,000 vehicles were reportedly stranded in Kent, England, on December 23, including 3,800 at Mantson airport and 1,200 on the motorway, after the country’s border with France was closed due to fears over a new coronavirus strain.

The French government agreed to ease its travel ban from Wednesday, but travellers are required to have had a negative COVID-19 test.

Kent Online reported that a huge pop-up testing site had been readied at Manston Airport, but said there were no facilities at Dover, which reportedly remained “completely gridlocked.”

Drivers reportedly scuffled with police on Wednesday amid rising tensions.
