Lorry overturns in horror smash on M6 as motorway will be 'closed for a number of hours'
A horror smash on the M6 has caused the motorway to be closed for a number of hours.
Currently, there is stationary traffic on the M6 from J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang) to J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange). The motorway is closed in both directions following a crash due to an overturned vehicle.
A number of images shared on social media shows a lorry that has been overturned on the stretch of road and along the central reservation. According to National Highways, emergency services are at the scene, including the Air Ambulance.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police told LancsLive: "We were called at about 11.20am to reports of a serious collision on the M6 motorway close to junction 33. The motorway is currently closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident.
"We will release further information when we are in a position to do so." Earlier on, Lancashire Police posted online that they "anticipate this will be closed for a number of hours" as they deal with the incident. LancsLive is providing regular updates on this breaking news story via a live blog.
