Lottie Moss deletes Twitter after 'nepo baby' backlash
Kate Moss's half-sister Lottie has deleted Twitter after being mocked by those accusing her of gaining fame and fortune via nepotism.
The conversation about "nepo babies" - or celebrities who have benefitted from nepotism - reached fever pitch earlier this week after New York magazine published its latest issue, which featured a chart of "nepo babies" and their connections in the industry.
Lottie took umbrage at the criticism, writing in a now-deleted tweet: "I'm so sick of people blaming nepotism for why they aren't rich and famous or successful - obviously it's not fair that people who come from famous families are getting a leg up because of that but guess what? Life isn't fair - if you put your mind to something you can accomplish."
The model, who now has an OnlyFans page, moaned on Twitter after being widely mocked for her complaint, with a few users posting the meme of Paris Hilton wearing a "Stop Being Poor" T-shirt.
Sympathy over her latest outburst was in short supply, however, and Lottie subsequently deleted her Twitter account.
The 24-year-old has spoken in the past about how difficult it is living in the shadow of a famous sibling. She said on the Private Parts Podcast in 2021: "It's hard when your sister is Kate Moss. I kind of always had everything handed to me, like jobs and everything through Kate. I never felt like I worked for anything. Even, like I had a clothing brand with PacSun... Even that I just kind of got it handed to me."
Her half-sister Kate is yet to comment on the controversy.
Pop star Lily Allen, the daughter of actor Keith Allen and movie producer Alison Owen, has also faced criticism for defending "nepo babies" in the arts and insisting nepotism is a greater problem in other industries.
