The returning judge, 64, slammed the US presidential candidate’s hair and personality just days after fellow panellist Simon Cowell admitted is planning to invite the politician and fellow candidate Hillary Clinton on his other show America’s Got Talent.

But Louis will be less than impressed if Trump turns up to The X Factor studio.

When asked if he’s worried Simon might ask the potential future US president to appear on The X Factor, Louis told Yahoo UK: “I’m all for Hillary, she will be the next US president. The American public are not that stupid to vote for Trump.

"He’s a bluffer, he’s dreadful, he’s a fake, he’s a conman, and he’s got the worst hair.”

Speaking about inviting Trump and Clinton on America’s Got Talent earlier this week, Simon told PEOPLE “Why don’t we invite them on? They can sing, dance, whatever they want.

"So we’re going to put the invite out and it sort of changes the election process a little bit. It would be good, right?”

Louis is reprising his role as an X Factor judge this series, after a one-year break, alongside fellow returnees Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, and admitted as soon as Simon offered him the job he signed on the dotted line immediately.

When asked what clinched the deal to bring him back to the show, Louis said: “Getting the phone call. I’m friends with Simon, he said, ‘Listen, I’ve made mistakes, I want to get the old team back again.’

"And obviously by old he meant me.”

While the star has publicly slammed last year’s X Factor panel – made up of Cheryl, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw - on several occasions, he insists the judges for the 13th series are the “perfect” mix.

Speaking at the launch of The X Factor in London on Thursday, he said: “This the dream panel, one million per cent. This is the perfect team. We all know each other and we understand each other, there’s nowhere we can’t go. It just works.”

Simon and Sharon were unable to attend the launch due to filming commitments in the US.
