Louise Redknapp shows off injuries as she gets back to work after fall

Louise Redknapp showed fans her painful chin cut as she battled through the pain for a 9-to-5 script read-through.

Redknapp was forced to pull out of her role in the Dolly Parton-inspired musical after a “nasty fall” left her with a fractured wrist and her chin cut open.

But the singer revealed that she is still attending script rehearsals for the West End show so she “doesn’t lose it”.

“Hi, I’ve just seen the doctor, chin is healing really well. Arm’s still quite sore,” she said in an Instagram video.

“On my way to do a quick read-through for 9-to-5 so I don’t lose what I had but I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your support.”

Redknapp was left “heartbroken” earlier this month when she was forced to pull out of her role as Violet Newstead after taking a bad tumble in the street.

The 44-year-old shared a snap of herself in hospital with a cut to the face as she told fans she was “taking some time out” from the stage on “doctors’ orders”.

Redknapp wrote: “It breaks my heart to say I am having to take some time out and won’t be able to continue with my role in 9-5. Due to a nasty fall I have only gone and fractured my wrist and got 10 (yes 10) stitches in my chin.

“Following my doctors orders- they have said I will be ok but as they say in the theatre ’the show must go on’ and I wish the rest of the fabulous cast an amazing opening night and I will be back on that stage for 9-5 before you know it.”

Redknapp was inundated with well wishes and comments from fans and friends, including co-star Amber Davies who described her as “one of her favourite humans”.

The Love Island winner, who will play Judy Bernly in the upcoming musical, posted a picture of the two together as she wished her a “speedy recovery”.

Redknapp will be replaced by Caroline Sheen during her hiatus from the stage.
