Louise Thompson went into septic shock after having emergency surgery.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 34, has been in hospital for almost two weeks after suffering agonising pain in her abdomen.

Her fiancé, Ryan Libbey, talked about the latest “soul-destroying” setback in Louise’s health on the couple's podcast, He Said, She Said, admitting: "I don’t know how much more she can take."

The emotional reality star, 34, explained that he recorded the podcast alone because Thompson - with whom he shares son Leo, two - was in hospital at the time.

Libbey said he found Thompson “rolling around in heaps of pain” at their London home when he returned from a weekend spent visiting family in Devon.

In a video recorded last week and shared on Instagram on Wednesday, the father-of-one said: "Sadly Louise is not here this week.”

“She had to go back into hospital almost two weeks ago for another emergency operation in the same tummy area that she's been recovering from since earlier this year with her stoma surgery. It was completely unexpected,” he went on.

“I can't believe we're back in this situation. My heart beat is skipping around all over the place which is an indication of how heavy and raw it all feels. It's very unexpected and a difficult pill to swallow."

Libbey explained that his wife was rushed to A&E nine days ago before suffering from septic shock.

Thompson is now recovering and has been taken out of the intensive care unit.

“It's completely broken me. Her recovery has been up and down,” Libbey said.

“I don't know how much more she can take. It's soul destroying, it takes the wind right out of your sails.

“It leaves you completely dumbfounded because you don't know why someone would deserve to go through countless bouts of bad health like this.”

Libbey added that he hoped Thompson will be home in time for their son Leo's third birthday on November 14.

Thompson - who is the elder sister of reality star Sam Thompson - shared her own update from the hospital on Wednesday, posting a photo of Libbey placing a balloon at the end of her bed.

“It’s World kindness day. The world feels like it’s been a bit unkind to me again. But today is a new day. And that hopefully means home,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I really hate to say it but I’ve been back in hospital feeling very poorly (I feel like the word ‘poorly’ warrants the label of an Onomatopoeia - everything about it resembles elderly, frail illnessy stuff).”

She added that it was “quite scary seeing my body laden with so many foreign objects,” and thanked “modern medicine” for getting her through the ordeal.

Thompson has struggled with a string of health woes over the last three years.

She had to undergo an emergency caesarean with the birth of her son in 2021 and ended up losing three-and-a-half litres of blood after hemorrhaging for more than three hours.

Earlier this year, Thompson revealed she has a stoma bag due to her long-term battle with the bowel condition, ulcerative colitis.

She also has the autoimmune disease lupus.
