Love Actually's 'octopus boy' is super hot now

Last Friday, the entire nation got sent into a tizzy as the cast of Love Actually reunited for a Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day Actually’ special.

Just 10 minutes long, the mini-sequel gave us an update on all of our favourite characters’ lives and what they have been up to since the original film was released way back in 2003.

It’s been 14 long years since he made his octopus debut.

However, there was one scene-stealer that was notably missing from the reunion; Natalie’s nameless little brother, who sat between her and Hugh Grant’s Prime Minister on the way to the Christmas concert.

Oh, and did we mention that he was dressed like an octopus? Remember, eight is a lot of legs.

The little boy was played by Billy Campbell, who has since disappeared from the acting scene, however, his godmother – actress Kathy Burke – decided that the world deserved to see what he was up to these days as well as his former castmates, and one thing’s for certain: We feel seriously old.

Tweeting a photo of Billy as a fully-fledged adult, Kathy wrote: “Want to feel old? Here’s what octopus boy aka my godson, Bill looks like now.”

And it’s safe to say that he’s one heck of a looker.

The photo drove Twitter wild as Kathy’s followers responded to her tweet, with one fan writing: “Sorry, but he would make a good Harry Styles double.”

Others added: “Very handsome but I’m a bit disappointed he’s not squeezed into his outfit. Also Octopus Boy would make a good Marvel Avenger.”

“I saw the second photo first and thought ‘yummy’ – now I feel like dirty old letch.”

And one concerned follower made a pretty shocking revelation, tweeting: “Well I never! I’ve spent the last God knows how many years thinking that was a girl in the film!”

You learn something new every day, eh?

Octopus boy wasn’t the only Love Actually character missing from the sequel, with Kris Marshall’s Colin Frissell and Martin Freeman and Joanna Page’s John and Judy also absent.

Emma Thompson was another to opt out of the sequel as Alan Rickman, who played her on-screen husband, sadly died last year and she felt that it would not be appropriate to appear without him.

However, the new film did manage to give us multiple happy endings – including Andrew Lincoln’s lovesick character of Mark revealing that he’s now shacked up with none other than Kate Moss, Jamie and Aurelia are happily married with four children, Natalie and Daniel are still together – with Daniel returning as PM – and little Sam and Joanna are all grown up and hopelessly in love.

Fans were hugely impressed with the Love Actually/ Red Nose Day spin-off and all of the cast, as well as director Richard Curtis, were praised on social media.
