Yahoo News Love Is Blind's Tom explains why his mum missed his wedding
Love Is Blind UK star Tom Stroud has revealed why his mum missed his wedding on the show.
Tom is currently engaged to Maria on the dating show's first UK-based season, which landed on Netflix earlier this month.
While doing a Q&A on his Instagram Stories on Friday (August 16), Tom was asked about his mum's absence from his upcoming nuptials.
The star then explained that his mum is "very private person" and doesn't want to be shown on TV.

"My mum is my rock and I would've loved to have shown people how amazing she is, but she is a very private person and had absolutely no desire to be on TV in front of millions of people," he wrote.
"Her and Maria spent the day together in London though and they were two peas in a pod and had lots of similarities."
Tom and Maria quickly bonded in the pods after opening up about their families. Tom revealed how his relationships have been impacted by his dad leaving him when he was younger, and Maria emotionally opened up about losing her dad during the COVID pandemic.
While Tom also built a strong connection with Tash, he ultimately decided to propose to Maria. Upon meeting, the pair were incredibly pleased with their decision.

Earlier this week, Maria took to her Instagram Stories to explain whether she'd change anything from her time on the show.
"I try to think everything happens the way it was supposed to, and my journey would have happened in the exact [same way] if I had to do it again," she said.
"The only thing I would say is I would've tried to enjoy it a bit more. I got a bit bogged down as it went on, and I got inside my own head a bit too much. So I would've tried to enjoy it a bit more. Get out of my own head a little bit more."
Fans can tune into the Love Is Blind UK season finale on August 21 to see whether Maria and Tom go through with their vows.
