A Grimsby-based waxing specialist has claimed a top award at what are recognised as the nation’s “Beauty Oscars”.

Amy Nixon scooped the title of Waxing Therapist of the Year at the 2024 BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology) and CIBTAC (Confederation of International Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology) UK Awards. Held at the Fairmont Windsor Park and hosted by industry icon Caroline Hirons, the awards are recognised by the industry’s leading beauty professionals.

Lesley Blair MBE, CEO and chair of BABTAC and CIBTAC, said: “The judging process is extremely rigorous, so every finalist should be hugely proud of their achievement of reaching this stage. It is an unmatched celebration of the calibre of talent and excellence that makes up our beauty sector.
