The Netflix show helps singles who are sick of being judged on their looks to find their perfect match.

Contestants move into men's and women's apartments at the beginning of the show and spend time "dating" by sitting in pods where they can chat through the wall, but can't see the other person.

If they form a connection, they can then move ion to the next stage of the show by proposing to their mystery match - but things can get a little awkward if two singles go for the same prospective partner.

Once the matches are made, the contestants who believe they've found their true love will meet in person for the first time, with no guarantee that who they see before them won't change their minds.

The couples then take holidays together and move in with each other, getting to know their families, friends and lives before deciding whether to go ahead with a wedding at the end of the series.

It's presented by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, who follow all the drama as the couples choose whether to commit to life together or walk away still single.

What was the drama in season 1?

As with any TV dating show, there was drama aplenty - beginning with an over-popular groom, Barnett, who had Amber, Jessica and LC all believing he was going to pick them.

He eventually chose Amber, leaving Jessica with second choice Mark and LC out of the show altogether.

Amber and Jessica never managed to completely drop their rivalry, falling out throughout the series as Amber accused Jessica of still being after her man, while she eventually decided to leave Mark at the altar.

Things got even more complicated at the reunion special two years later with plenty of animosity still there despite Amber and Barnett remaining married, and LC opening up on a disastrous time dating Jessica's ex Mark after the series ended.

Amber tried to defend friend Mark (who didn't turn up to the reunion) for dating another woman behind LC's back who he was by then expecting a baby with, even after it emerged that his dating multiple women during the pandemic had led to those involved getting COVID.

Giannina and Damian had a hugely stormy relationship and despite splitting on their wedding day, they did stay together until 2021 - but there were awkward scenes at the reunion when Damian turned up with another woman.

Diamond and Carlton split on holiday at the start of the series after Carlton opened up on his bisexuality, something that Diamond struggled to accept he hadn't mentioned during their blind dates, leading to a vicious poolside row.

Lauren and Cameron were the show's success story, falling in love, staying married, and somehow avoiding any drama with the other couples.

Love Is Blind is streaming now on Netflix.
