Love Island 2017 is almost over. After almost seven weeks of bantering, saucy bedroom antics, mugging each other off by the pool, some very questionable rapping and even an appearance from Stormzy, the villa is about to close its doors.

The contestants will fly back home to new lives plugging charcoal toothpaste, detox teas and protein powder on Instagram and we’ll go back to our old ones that didn’t involve watching semi-naked twenty-somethings flirt outrageously on national TV.

But before that fateful day, we’ve got a final to watch. One lucky couple must be crowned 2017 King and Queen and decide (Golden Balls-style) whether they’re going to split or steal that prize money.

Here’s everything you need to know about the final of Love Island. Now pass the tissues.

When is the final?

The Love Island 2017 final will take place live from the now iconic Majorcan villa on July 24th. Presenter Caroline Flack will be stepping through its doors one last time to reveal which of this year’s finalists have won over the viewers enough to get their hands on the prize money.

How will the winners be decided?

In previous years the winning couple has been determined by a public vote which sees viewers pick their favourite couples.

However, while appearing on Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch, Flack teased that we may see some changes to this year’s final. Rumours have been swirling ever since that one contestant could be picked to win the show solo.

What’s the prize?

A £50,000 prize is up for grabs, but before the winners of the show can get their hands on it they must decide whether to split or steal the money.

If they split they’ll both receive £25,000 each, if one of the pair chooses to steal they’ll receive the entire £50,000 prize (and no doubt a shedload of flack on social media), but only if their partner doesn’t opt to take all the money too.

If they do then they’ll both lose out on the prize, and with it, we imagine, any chance of a successful relationship in the outside world.

Who’s won before?

Last year’s winners were golden couple Kara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey who partnered up right at the beginning of the show and stuck it out till the end.

A year on and the pair have sadly split, though their baby is due later this year. The two remain friends but have said they have no plans to get back together at the moment.

In 2015, the winners were Jessica Hayes and Max Morley whose victory, after a rocky time in the villa, came as a surprise to everyone including themselves. Fast forward two years and the pair hasn't managed to make it work.

Who looks likely to win?

As it stands, the bookies’ favourite couple are Jamie and Camilla with odds of 11/8 to win. But fan favourite Kem could just nudge himself and partner Amber into pole position – they’re currently second favourites to win.

Chris and Olivia are third, Marcel and Gabby are fourth and Alex and Montana look least likely to take the crown with odds of 18/1. However, as one couple is due to be dumped from the island just before the final, everything could still change.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
