They say that Love Island holds a mirror up to British society allowing us a window into how young people date in 2018.

Tonight’s lesson is in how long a couple can go without telling their friends they’ve had sex for the first time, bought to us by genetically blessed twosome Megan and Eyal. The answer? Approximately one and a half minutes.

Yep, these two are the first to graduate from Wes’ “do-bits society,” to the “done it collective,” - sorry we made that one up ourselves – and they couldn’t wait to tell their fellow islanders. The girls celebrate how all women do when they hear their friend has had sex, with a massive group hug… Oh… Wait.

This wasn't the only big news of the show as – SPOILER ALERT IF YOU’RE WATCHING ON CATCH UP - on tonight’s episode we said goodbye to Rosie after newbie Sam couples up with Samira. Samira who asks possibly the best date question we’ve heard so far this series, ‘If you were a breadstick which one would you be?,’ really, take a second, have a think about that. Which breadstick would YOU be?

But Rosie’s exit doesn’t happen before she gets something masquerading as an apology from half man, half snake Adam. “I think that obviously things with me and you haven’t really worked out the best,” he says, “And I’m sorry. I am actually sorry if you felt that way. Whatever you felt, I’m sorry that I upset you. I don’t like seeing anyone cry.” I think we all know the answer to not making people cry, Adam, be a nicer person.

What we really want to know is, is he really sorry, or is it just that Sam came in and called him out on his behaviour, potentially alerting him to his ‘most-hated,’ status outside of the villa? We don’t want to be cynical here, but it’s one hundred percent the later.

And on leaving the villa Rosie remained unconvinced in his latest relationship with Zara, saying, ‘I don’t think Adam can help himself. I think whenever he sees someone new come in they’re a challenge for him. He wants to be the Alpha Male, he wants every girl to want him. It’s something new and shiny to play with, I think if they send in a brunette bombshell that’s his type he’d definitely will go for it again.’ Well said.

Next up teaching us some important lessons is Alex, who, for all his faults – seriously, when is he going to start wearing sun cream? The show is literally sponsored by Superdrug – is opening up to Ellie about his insecurities.

He might have a rep as a bit of a wet blanket but he is nothing but a man who can be honest about his feelings. And after a bit of a slow start to the series, we’re grateful for these on-goings. In previous series we’ve seen Camilla opening up about her job overseas, debates about feminism, deep and meaningful chats about their feelings, but this year the only convos they seem to be having are about where their heads are at.

So, we’re hoping for more of the same after tonight’s re-coupling, which sees clear winners Jack and Dani stay together (come on, obviously), Josh ‘we have done-bits,’ stick with ‘we haven’t done bits,’ Georgia – hopefully giving us a chance to get to the bottom of which one of them is telling the truth. Adam and his fourth ‘she’s my type,’ match Zara, Sam and Samira and of course Eyal and Megan.

And if rumours are anything to go by things could be set to get a whole lot more dramatic as reports have suggested that some of the islander’s exes could be heading into the villa.

Personally, we’re hoping that Samira’s “former flame”, Hollywood actor Chris Pine, is going to make a cameo. Now that would be worth watching...
