Love Island's forthcoming episode tonight (July 22) will posit Dr Alex and Alexandra on a date together in order to reinvigorate their relationship.

However, with the impending shock dumping just around the corner, will it prove too late for the lovebirds?

Prior to them sitting down for their date, Alexandra notes: "I feel like we're back on track. I think I'm going to need to get you to role play a bit more."

Opening up to her positivity, Alex jokes, "I charge quite a lot of money though for that. For proper role play, stripping and all that. I'm quite expensive. Maybe we could do a good discount. Or trading. We could do actually. It was good fun, I enjoyed that. We're not going to be Jack and Dani, not yet."

Later on whilst addressing the Beach Hut, the doctor confesses: "I think probably Alexandra and I had developed some quite thick ice between us and I think the role play might have smashed through that.

"Today it was just nice chilling on the day bed. I paid her a few compliments, we had a bit of a kiss."

With the two dressed up smart for the occasion, their date appears to go fantastically well.

Summarising their progression, Alex reveals, "You came in obviously around week six for me. I waited all that time to meet someone I was compatible with. It's been a long wait.

"So it's been a really nice second date. Our first proper date out of the villa. That blip we've had is done. We've got over that. We're continuing to grow and I'm very excited."

Love Island continues tonight (July 22) at 9pm on ITV2, where there'll be another dumping – followed by Love Island: Aftersun at 10pm on ITV2.
