Tonight's Love Island saw Sam Gowland and Georgia Harrison dumped from the villa, mere days before the final.

But before that, viewers were treated to a wonderful show of the Islanders all trying to take care of fake babies, with shall we say mixed results.

Viewers were thrilled at the return of the challenge:

But it did cause problems for this particular fan:

Clearly, there was one Islander who was a shoo-in for Dad of the Year – the one and only Chris Hughes, who made sure his and Olivia Atwood's baby had his head covered at all times whilst outside to protect his precious (plastic) skin.

That still didn't stop him from applying sun cream to the little one.

All behaviour that might seem a bit questionable, but completely won over Love Island viewers:

Chris won even more fans after he was overwhelmed by the emotions of becoming a new father, telling Olivia he had a tear in his eye because he cared so much about their baby.

Meanwhile, Olivia's decision to name the baby Cash ("after our favourite thing") showed her true intentions in the view of some:

But the most amazing part of Chris and Olivia's sudden exploration into parenthood was firstly, someone created a Twitter profile in the name of Cash Hughes (can't wait to see what's posted on there) and secondly, the little one's name was trending on Twitter – not only in the UK but worldwide.

Cash fared better than Montana and Alex's little girl Harper, who was left crying in her cot whilst her parents got up to some hanky panky in broad daylight and in full view of their fellow Islanders:

They still managed to pass the challenge along with Camilla and Jamie (parents to Jamie Jr), Marcel and Gabby (parents to an unnamed but well-behaved son) and obviously Chris and Olivia.

Sam and Georgia's daughter (first name Star, middle name Sign) was left outside in the direct sun with no coverage or sun lotion, which likely contributed to them failing the task ("shocking fatherhood" in Chris's words); and Amber and Kem probably failed because of Kem manhandling their baby as he tried to play 'Airplane'.

The four couples passing meant a glitter party was held that night – but the celebrations were short-lived when the exit of Sam and Georgia was announced.

Love Island continues on ITV2 tomorrow night (July 20) at 9pm.
