Love Island's Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay have finally met their idol in real life, linking up with Stormzy at today's V Festival (August 20).

Chris and Kem's rapping skills are now legendary, with Love Island superfan Stormzy appearing via video call in the final week to give the boys some advice before their talent show performance.

Naturally, whispers about Chris and Kem collaborating with Stormzy on something outside of the villa have been rampant, with some suggesting that they'd join him on stage at today's V Festival, but the boys seemed kind of doubtful that they'd actually get in to the studio with the man himself.

"Honestly, do you know what, that's actually our dream but we don't know anything," Kem told Roman Kemp for the Capital FM breakfast show, backstage at V Festival. "We've come here today just to meet everyone and have a good time. We haven't spoke to Stormzy, nothing's been said, but you never know."

The boys had previously connected with Stormzy via messenger, but other than sliding into each other's DMs, they hadn't linked up irl.

"He could walk up to us and be like, 'Boys, I've been bantering you the whole time, I don't actually like you," Chris said.

If Kem's posts are anything to go by, this isn't how it played out when they did get to finally meet.

No word yet on whether we'll be getting a Chris/Kem/Stormzy mixtape any time soon, but don't worry – with or without Stormzy, Chris and Kem are planning to make it into the studio together.

"There's lots of studio time waiting to happen. Like, we need to actually get to work on doing something. We can't go into the studio if we ain't got things ready," Kem said. "I've got a pad at home and it's not got much in it at the moment. It's got some bits."

Kem even bought a notepad for his new best pal Chris, and the pair have got matching pens. Plus, they've been approached by a few other big names hoping to get that Love Island magic touch.

"Louisa wants to do a collab," Kem revealed, referring to X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, as well as discussing the possibility of collaborating with Jax Jones.

Whatever happens, we can sleep easy knowing that these three have finally hung out.
