Dani Dyer admitted that it is hard graft giving Dr Alex George romance advice as he attempts to resuscitate his Love Island adventure.

The 27-year-old medic has been bumbling about the villa with all the gusto of an injured wasp, looking for a lucky lady to charm.

And his patience seems to have paid off as new girls Ellie Brown and Zara McDermott both caught his eye, even sharing an awkward smooch with Ellie, and now his new pals want to encourage him to up his game.

However, Dani admitted that it’s a little harder than it looks to get the doctor to put in a shift, romantically speaking, venting her growing frustration in the Beach Hut.

The barmaid said: “Giving Alex advice goes through one ear and comes out of the other.

“We are trying so hard. He might know what to do when it comes to fixing someone and delivering a baby but he definitely doesn’t know how to get the girl, let’s be honest.”

Her comments came after Danny Dyer’s daughter teamed up with beau Jack Fincham and resident playboy PT Adam Collard to urge Alex to kiss Ellie again.

Feeling awkward, Alex retreated to the comfort of the Beach Hut and sighed: “I’m sat there, I’m 27 years old, I’m getting pep talked by a load of people I’ve known for two weeks on how to kiss a girl. How embarrassing.”

But eventually Alex swallowed his medicine and sauntered over the Geordie newcomer for a chat about hypothetically recoupling.

Pulling her aside, he admitted: “I just want to say, I think when it comes to recoupling, if I lay my cards on my chest, I probably would quite like to recouple with you, if you felt the same kind of way.”

Has the meek medic sealed his romance with Ellie or will the car saleswoman drive off into the sunset with Wes Nelson?

Love Island continues Wednesday at 9pm on ITV2.
