Piers Morgan has made no secret of the fact that he hates Love Island.

But we didn't expect him to be this rude to Jonny Mitchell, who was eliminated from the show last week, during an interview on Good Morning Britain today (July 17).

While Susanna Reid tried to get all the gossip out of the former islander, Piers decided to try and test Jonny's intelligence instead – and it was brutal.

Taking over the interview, Piers asked his guest to work out 11 multiplied by 15.

"Maths isn't my strong point, don't put me on the spot," Jonny pleaded, before Piers then demanded him to identify the Chancellor of Germany.

"Okay, let's move on now," Jonny said, looking increasingly uncomfortable.

Piers then asked him, "Can you give me Pi to three decimal places?" – and Jonny had clearly had enough and decided to move the interview on.

However, Piers had other ideas and continued to mock Love Island and the contestants that apply to be on the show.

"Don't you think it's a forum for complete dimwits to behave like dimwits?" the presenter asked.

Jonny then finally lost his patience and hit back: "No, I think it's a great idea; you stick a bunch of twenty-something-year-olds in a villa for free and let them get on with it. It's great TV.

"Gosh, lighten up, Piers!"

"I don't think the show is stupid at all. It's just entertainment. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, mate – but the main audience is younger people, not you. No offence."

Clearly taken aback by Jonny's response, Piers burst into laughter and appeared to accept defeat and he finally backed down and let his guest finally talk about the show.

The former islander continued: "I've caught up with the show since I left the villa. I've watched Tyla and Mike and I am a little bit jealous – but I'm not too surprised to be honest with you. There were a lot of emotions going on when I was in there. But I have been mugged off!"

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am. Love Island is on ITV2, daily at 9pm.
