But Lauren disagreed, blaming his behaviour on the girls.
"I don't condone being horrible to girls, but it's a TV show and it's a game, it's Love Island! They have known each other how many days?" she said.
She went on: "I think the girls are acting a bit psycho. I'm a girls' girl, please believe me. I would be different and play the game.
"But the reason Adam has jumped ship is that they are acting psycho."
When Phillip Schofield if she thought Rosie was "acting like a psycho," Lauren continued: "Yes I do!
"She is so emotionally involved. Enjoy it, you're a young girl, a solicitor, act a bit more professional, get involved. I can't believe how she's acting.
"They are in that game. They are there to find someone they are compatible with. They are not in relationships."
And Lauren then added: "Women, be a bit stronger!
"Take control, don't let the boys decide. That's what I'm trying to get across. They are letting Adam treat them this way."
But viewers were outraged at Lauren's comments and her description of the girls' behaviour as "psycho", with many making their feelings clear on Twitter.
#ThisMorning I hope nobody takes Lauren's advice on dealing with emotional abusive men. When you've been in a relationship like that it's not as simple as 'be strong'.- Cerys (@cez_FRERARD) June 21, 2018
Think it’s brilliant that @thismorning is talking about emotional abuse. We shouldn’t call women “psycho” because they’re upset and calling out actions that are wrong. Be strong and trust yourself. #thismorning- hev (@hevsbutton) June 21, 2018
@LaurenGoodger hasn’t got a clue what a ‘girls girl’ is if she thinks that Rosie’s behaviour is ‘psycho’ that’s a term men use as a defence when a girl is calling out their behaviour! And from the way she acted in towie https://t.co/yQJgnvdsM2 #thismorning- Roseline (@roselinerobert1) June 21, 2018
How sad to hear Lauren Goodger defend Adam and brand Rosie a "psycho" on #ThisMorning. I'm horrified at how she has managed to turn Rosie into the villain of every single situation, as if she deserves this treatment #LoveIsland- Ryan Love (@RyanJL) June 21, 2018
I’m in shock, how can she blame the girls for Adam’s manipulative and horrid behaviour? How can women think like this about other women? #ThisMorning- Chloé (@chloeannelillia) June 21, 2018
