Thursday night’s dramatic Casa Amor recoupling has achieved the highest overnight audience since the 2019 Love Island final.

A total of 3.9million tuned in real-time across all devices, including a TV audience of 3.0million which was up on the equivalent episode last year by 0.8million.

It was jam-packed full of surprises as the contestants chose whether to stick with their couple back in the main villa or twist and recouple with one of the newbies.

Drama soon unfolded as some unlikely Islanders chose to stray while others had their Casa Amor antics exposed.

Paige Thorne was horrified to hear Jacques O’Neill had shared kisses with newcomer Cheyanne Kerr after initially being delighted to find he had chosen to recouple with her.

Their night ended in fireworks with the pair furiously clashing over his Casa Amor antics.

Although Andrew Le Page had chosen to recouple with Coco Lodge, he couldn’t resist calling his former flame Tasha Ghouri “fake” and saying she “tells more lies than Pinocchio” when she recoupled with Billy Brown.

The Dubai estate agent said he had “mixed emotions” after hearing what the new girls had been saying about him behind her back.

However, by the end of the night, he said he had Ghouri’s back no matter what and admitted he wasn’t sure there was a future with Lodge.

Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack were shocked to discover they had both recoupled, Hope choosing to take a risk with Summer Botwe and Polack taking a chance on Deji Adeniyi.

“May the best heartbreaker win,” Polack told her former flame Hope in the recoupling.

Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin su Culculoglu recoupled with each other, both surprised but estactic before things soured when it was revealed the Italian hunk enjoyed a few kisses with Mollie Salmon.

Smitten Gemma Owen and Luca Bish were finally reunited in each other’s arms with no drama.

Jay Younger revealed he has decided to pursue a romance with Chyna Mills while his former friendship partner Danica Taylor found a connection with Josh Samuel Le Grove.
