Love Island contestant Michael Griffiths is in competition with Phoebe Waller-Bridge to win a BAFTA for the Must-See moment of the year.

The iconic reality show moment saw the firefighter dump his partner Amber Gill — who he had been coupled up with for much of the show’s duration — for Casa Amor new arrival Joanna Chimonides.

After the decision, a fight erupted in the villa with Griffiths branding Gill “childish”. She responded by calling Griffiths and Chimonides “dead tings”.

Backed up by friends Ovie Soko and Anna Valkili, Gill went on to win the show with rugby player Greg O’Shea.

Other nominated scenes include the death of Sinead Osbourne from Coronation Street, Arya killing the Night King on Game of Thrones, Nessa proposing to Smithy on Gavin and Stacey, and John Corbett’s death in Line of Duty.

Tipped for the top spot is Fleabag’s church confessional scene where she tells the “Hot Priest” (Andrew Scott) everything she’s ever done wrong in her life and continues to break down in the process.

Members of the public can vote for their favourite Must-See Moment online. Voting opens at 08:00 on 3rd June and closes at 17:00 on 15th July. The winner will be announced during the Virgin Media BAFTAs broadcasted on 31st July.
