Actor Danny Dyer will potentially make a cameo in the new series of Love Island, after giving daughter Dani his ‘blessing’ to have sex on the show.

With the brand new series of the raunchy reality programme about to start on Monday, Dani, 21, has revealed that her dad, the EastEnders hardman, 40, may make an appearance later on in the series.

As with each year, contestants’ family show up prior to the finale for that all important reunion, where they hug and cry and generally give a bit of advice to the islanders. And while it’s not confirmed that the actor will appear in person, Dani hints that there’s a chance – even though the likelihood is he will Skype in or be replaced by her Nan.

‘I think he would come on, he didn’t say he wouldn’t!’ Dani told Digital Spy.

‘I don’t know [only] because of dad’s work and obviously because of the BBC and ITV clash! But I think he would.

‘My mum [Jo Mas] definitely would, and if dad couldn’t, then my nan would come in too. [But] I’m not sure about him doing a Stormzy!’ she joked.

But Dani, who recently appeared on Survival of the Fittest, insists she doesn’t want to be noticed: ‘I don’t want to be famous.

‘A few months before the show, producers asked if I wanted to come in for a meeting. I didn’t get offered Love Island straight away.

‘They asked if I wanted to have a meeting and then slowly like I was like, “maybe”, and I had a think about it, and had a few chats with friends and family, who said do it now while you have the opportunity.’

Not only that, but apparently her old man has also given her the go-ahead to really get involved in the show’s frivolity of hooking up in front of the cameras.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she said: ‘My dad has given his blessing to have sex.

‘But I am not going to, though. He said that because he doesn’t want me to worry and wants to put me at ease. He is so laid back.

‘If I fall in love, he will cry too. He is like, “Whatever you have got to do, go and do it”.’

The barmaid from East London was announced this week as one of the initial 11 entering the house, with more names to follow.

Catch Love Island from 4 June, at 9pm, on ITV2.
