Stormzy's appearance on Love Island has been hailed as 'the best TV ever', after the grime star rang the villa to give some much-needed rap advice.

He'd managed to stir things up in the villa from all the way back in the UK earlier in the week, but Thursday's episode saw fan of the show Stormzy beamed in to chat directly to the islanders.

As it was the evening of the talent competition, the rapper surprised Run KMC (Kem, Marcel and Chris), who were practising their performance for the show that evening, with a video call.

He had a few words of advice for the budding grime artists. After checking what was “gwanin" with the boys, he told them he was “feeling” their rap, but advised them they could take it to the next level by memorising their lines.

“You men can’t use your phones, that’s the only thing,” he said.

Though the boys were certainly pleased to see him, they didn’t seem as star-struck as you might expect.

In the Beach Hut Kem explained: “Obviously Stormzy is a big name, but we’re also a big name, so it’s just like seeing a friend” and Chris added: He’s a fan of us and we’re a fan of him. We share the love and that’s what we do as peoples.”

You could say the boys are getting a bit too big for their boots.

Viewers couldn't believe that Stormzy had popped up on their favourite show, describing it as 'the best thing ever'.

And some called for rapper to team up with Run KMC for a rap collab.

The rap love-in took a turn for the slightly awkward as the girls overheard the conversation and came running into the room, bringing Olivia face to face with Stormzy after he'd slated her on Twitter.

Earlier in the week the rapper had inadvertently caused drama between Chris and Olivia after his tweet “Chris you’re too good for her mate” was read out during a challenge.

Stormzy ended things on a conciliatory note, however, telling the 26-year-old Motorsport Grid Girl that there were “no hard feelings”.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
