Love Island's Hayley Hughes has made herself stand out by saying some ridiculous things, like not knowing what an earlobe is and thinking Brexit had something to do with trees.

We didn't say she was standing out for the right reasons.

However, a previous unseen clip (via The Mirror) has fans convinced that she has given the game away, and her being a 'dumb blonde' is just an act.

In the previously unseen footage that aired as part of Saturday night round-up show Love Island: The Weekly Hot List, Hayley asked her fellow girls about geography, stating that she believed that Wales was in Cardiff, Essex was a continent (and then a country) and Spain was a part of the United Kingdom.

"So I'm from Liverpool, so I live in a country?" she asked. "If you go on a plane and go to another place, that's still the United Kingdom? So, Spain?"

And then, when the other girls told her Spain was in Europe, she replied: "But it's still in the United Kingdom?"

Viewers were convinced that Hayley had to be pretending, with one even claiming that she is trying to emulate TOWIE's Joey Essex.

With previous Love Island stars admitting to going on the show mostly to build a media career, we wouldn't be surprised if Scarlett Moffatt's favourite Islander was acting.

Since leaving the show, Hayley has appeared on This Morning for an incredibly awkward interview, where she sat on a different sofa to Charlie Frederick because they don't get on.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 at 9pm.
