Love Island fans slam Maura Higgins' 'suggestive' behaviour as she sucks an ice lolly in front of Tommy Fury

Love Island viewers called for Maura Higgins to be removed from the villa after being left “uncomfortable” by her attempts to woo Tommy Fury.

The Irish grid girl has made no secret of her crush on Tommy, hitting it off on their first date when she walked in last week.

Since then, Maura has made it her goal to try and couple up with the professional boxer, deciding to use an ice lolly as her latest method of seduction.

Maura put the cold treat into her mouth and sucked suggestively as she walked past Tommy, shooting him a look as she went by to join the girls.

“Did you just see that? She just put the whole thing in her mouth,” he said when Maura was out of earshot.

Love Island viewers were left furious at her behaviour, with some even calling for her to be “removed”.

One wrote: “Maura really should be removed. If a guy was doing what she's doing he would of been out within seconds. #LoveIsland.”

Another said: “What the f*** was Maura doing with that ice lolly? Jesus, never seen desperation like it. It was awkward to watch #loveisland.”

“Oh, Maura. I admired your confidence when u first walked in but I'm cringing right now. Far too forward & suggestive. The ice lolly was the last straw, you're trying far too hard & coming across the wrong way. Not the kind of girl a guy wants to settle down with #loveisland,” tweeted somebody else.

Others made reference to previous episodes where Maura attempted to kiss Tommy, despite him not wanting to engage with her.

Her attempts to lure him into a couple also proved futile as Tommy chose to stay with Molly-Mae Hague in the latest coupling ceremony.

Holly Willoughby said Maura had gone “too far” in her attempts to win over Tommy.

“Maura had that in the bag,” she said on This Morning. “She could have absolutely had him, but she went too far. It was too much for him.”

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2.
