The weather's getting hotter, which can only mean one thing.

Well yes, summer is approaching, but more importantly, Love Island is just around the corner… and we mean officially, according to Caroline Flack.

The presenter posted an exciting new update for fans, teasing that the new cast has been picked and that filming for the series begins this week.

"What's really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019," she said on her Instagram Stories.

"And by the end of the week I'm going to have potentially have seen the cast for this year, which is really exciting. And mad that's it's come around this quick! So I'll let you know what happens. It's going to be a long, hot summer and all that."

While we're preparing for all this year's drama, many are still reeling from the fallout of last year's series – not least the recent split of last year's winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.

The couple have broken up before, though Jack has warned people not to hold out hope for another reconciliation.

"I don't think so, no," he said. "There's a lot of feelings there. Of course there is, we've been through a lot together. But, I can't stress enough, I just hope that she's happy, and I just want the best for her."

Jack further explained: "I'm always going to have a lot of love for her. We're on good terms. It's just life, it just didn't work out and that's it. I wish her all the best and I genuinely mean that. I hope that she's happy, I really want her to be happy."

Love Island will return to ITV2 in the summer.
