If you cast your mind back to the second series of Love Island in 2016, you may remember Adam Maxted.

He entered the villa 11 days into the series and coupled up with Katie Salmon, ending up finishing in a respectable fourth place with her.

Well he's now a world away from that romantic poolside life, as he's making a real go of his new career as a professional wrestler and he's lined up a pretty high-profile gig.

WOS (World of Sport) Wrestling has confirmed that it's signed Adam – aka "The most handsome man in wrestling" – for its new 10 part series.

And Adam, who's dubbed himself 'Flex', is clearly hyped to take part, as he's retweeted an action-packed trailer for the show and captioned it: "Just 10 days until @WOSWrestling is back on ITV for a new 10-week series!"

He's also made it clear that he's loving his career path, sharing a photo of himself in full wrestling gear and writing: "Stepping outside of your comfort zone is the best way to find out what you're really made of!"

The new series will see professional wrestlers compete in intense bouts to win championship titles and will also star Grado and British Bulldog Junior.

WOS Wrestling is coming to ITV from Saturday, July 28.

Sadly Adam's relationship with Katie didn't last long, but his wrestling career certainly seems like it suits him well.

And if you want to keep up with what the current set of Love Islanders are up to, the next episode is due to air tonight (July 20) at 9pm on ITV2.
