Love Island star Rosie Williams is letting her true feelings be known about the recoupling that tested her friendship with Samira Mighty, and ultimately caused her elimination.

During Friday night's episode (June 22), Rosie left the villa when new boy Sam Bird chose to couple with Samira Mighty after two days of wooing both ladies, who are close friends.

Digital Spy and other media spoke with Rosie about complaints from some fans, who felt that she tried to block the obvious romantic connection between Sam and Samira prior to Friday's recoupling ceremony.

"Samira went for it as well," Rosie argued. "We had a chat. Samira made it clear to me that Sam wasn't her type, and she was disappointed when he walked in. So I didn't think Samira was all that interested. We both agreed that it wasn't a battle between us."

Rosie went on: "When Samira was talking to him, and I left her alone. And I know, at one stage, I was talking to him, and Samira actually came over mid-conversation.

"So if anything, people can say it's the other way around as well. But no, I'm happy for her, and I gave her a big cuddle when I left. I said, 'I'm happy for you. Go and get your shot'."

As fans know, anything fan happen in reality TV, and there's always a chance that Rosie or any other Love Island contestant could return to the villa. So, who would she couple up with if given another chance?

"I probably would have just stuck with Sam," she candidly admitted. "I was looking forward to getting to know him, but it was just a day and a half.

"It's not long enough. I know it's 24 hours, but when every boy is trying to get to know each and every girl separately to make his decision, there's not enough time."

Love Island airs new episodes Sunday through Friday at 9pm on ITV2, with Caroline Flack hosting The Weekly Hot List recap show on Saturdays at 9pm.
