Love Island’s Amy Hart has accused BBC Radio 1 of “trivialising” her heartache after they suggested they were going to stage a “fake dumping” from Curtis Pritchard as a prank.

The former flight attendant was devastated when Pritchard ditched her for a new girl during their time in the villa and ended up quitting the ITV2 show. She later said she walked out to protect her mental health.

So the 26-year-old was apparently unimpressed when she spotted a social media post from Radio 1’s Chris Stark asking his listeners to message him if they fancied a “fake dumping”.

Hart shared the post on her Instagram Story along with her response – although both are no longer visible on the site.

Stark’s message said: “Would you like the chance to be dumped by Curtis from Love Island?

“We’ve had an idea for the show where we can offer you a fake dumping.

“Keen to do a few of these with loads of you.

“So if you’d like to know what it’s like to be dumped by Curtis message me back now…”

“I thought we were being conscious of mental health these days?” Hart responded.

“I’m all for a laugh but I just feel that trivialising something that so many people resonated with and turning it into a laughing matter isn’t entertainment,” she added.

However, it looks as if the prank has been canned anyway, as the HuffPost quotes a Radio 1 spokesperson as saying: “We will have Curtis as a guest on the show and with any live radio, ideas and plans change and this feature isn’t something we’ll be doing.”

Hart and Pritchard were recently reunited on the Love Island reunion show and insisted there was no bad blood between them.

Dancer Pritchard admitted their break-up had been “a hard time” but said that he hoped they could be friends in the future.
